Hmm...I am not sure how the interviewers look at the entire group assessment process, so I am not sure whether I was the best. There is another guy from the group who did an excellent job, at least from my perspective, as he was active and took the initiative to discuss throughout the process, and sometimes also pushed the discussion to the right direction. He also got an offer. Maybe you can draw conclusions about what the ML's criteria is.
However, my understanding of the assessment center is that every component of the exercise is taken into consideration, including the 2 panel interviews. In HiAll there was a guy who got an offer for the same program two years ago. According to the article, the person did not do an impressive job during the group stage; however, his performance in the panel interviews was "impressive".
In fact, I thought the panel interviews were even more important than the group exercise, as it allowed the directors to fully understand who you are. I am not sure whether I did a flawless panel interview, but I think I was able to remain passionate by the end of the superday, without showing boredness or tiredness. I was not satisfied with one of my answers in the second interview; for the rest I think I answered the questions effectively.
Finally Job hunding involves a bit, if not a lot, of luck. It may explain why I screwed up a lot of interviews before this one, while I thought I did prepare them very well. However, I think all the unsuccessful expriences help to build a solid foundation for you to enjoy a huge success in the future. The good news may be just around the corner.
Hope it helps!:83) |
